About PonyZone

A small team of pony people who got tired of "one size fits all" equestrian shopping.

Why We Exist

If you've ever tried buying a bridle for a Welsh Section A, you know the problem. Most equestrian retailers carry one or two "pony size" options buried at the back of their horse range. Sizing is inconsistent, descriptions are vague, and you end up ordering three sizes to find one that fits.

PonyZone launched in 2020 to fix that. We carry products specifically made for ponies — from Shetlands up to 14.2hh — and we list proper measurements for everything. If a noseband runs small, we tell you. If a rug is cut generously, we note it.

We're not trying to be the biggest equestrian retailer in the UK. We'd rather be the most useful one for pony owners.

The Team

We're a small team based in Wiltshire. Between us we've owned, loaned, and looked after ponies for over forty years. Our current yard residents include two Welsh Cobs, a New Forest, and a very opinionated Shetland named Biscuit.

We test products ourselves before listing them. If a detangling spray doesn't actually work on a thick native mane, it doesn't go on the site. If a fly mask falls off within the hour, same. We're picky because we know what it's like to waste money on kit that doesn't deliver.

What We Stand For

Honest Reviews

We don't stock products we wouldn't use on our own ponies. If something has a known drawback, we say so in the description rather than hiding it.

Pony Welfare First

We prioritise products designed with pony physiology in mind — gentle feeds, properly fitted tack, and grooming tools that don't cause discomfort.

Community Support

Owning a pony can be isolating, especially for first-timers. We publish free guides, answer questions by email, and share what we've learned from our own mistakes.
